The mission of the Barefield Development Corporation is to improve the general welfare of the people of Pottsville, particularly those with very low to moderate income. This mission will be accomplished by the construction, acquisition, and rehabilitation of housing projects and related facilities that promote recreational, educational, vocational, and healthy neighborhood activities, as well as facilities for the care of children, aged, and disabled persons. Further the Corporation will lease, maintain, manage or sell these projects and facilities.
